1 way to avoid worry, fear, and anxiety.
Since the beginning of creation, man has always been concerned about one thing or another. So how to avoid worry, fear and anxiety in today’s world. What is the secret on how to avoid worry, fear and anxiety on things like; What shall I eat tomorrow, how will I dress for a certain event, am I good enough, will I ever compare to certain people in the societal status, will I find the right partner, and way much more. With time our concerns grow into worry, to fear and we end up living anxious lives.
Fear is good and it is a means of survival, otherwise, if you don’t fear a falling tree, it will crush you, if you don’t fear a speeding car, then it will run over you. However, fear is a weapon of destruction and when we live our lives in fear, we end up sabotaging our health, our success, our relationships, and the overall mental health. Living in fear hinders us from reaching our highest self and unleashing our full potential. It can block us from the blessings God has in store for us.
So how do we stop worrying, how do we drop the fear and how do we escape from living an anxious life. Read my previous post on the secret to life http://ninanyambura.com/the-secret-to-life/
Matthew 6:33, Instead, be concerned above everything else with the kingdom of God and what He requires of you, and He will provide you with all the other things.” Popularly, the verse is recited as seek first His kingdom and righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you. Other than worrying about what we shall eat or the clothes we shall wear, our major concern should be seeking God and His will over our lives. Moreover, for those who chose to follow Christ, let’s not do so with selfish ambitions.
Most of the time we are after what God can do for us to make our earthly lives painless and more fun. It is by doing so that we end up so frustrated and worried when things don’t go as we wish. I am not saying that we should not ask God for money, big cars, and houses, etc. I also want these things. However, my desire for them should not exceed my desire for God and I end up living a restless life full of the fear to be outdated or not having enough.
We need to get to the point where we lay our lives before Christ, denying ourselves the worldly pleasures that keep us worried, but instead commit ourselves totally to God.
By committing ourselves totally to God, we also learn to cast our burdens unto Him. He alone will take care of our situations better than we can do it ourselves. My take-home is, seek God and seek Him diligently, He will take care of your health, your finances, academics, relationships, family, career, and everything else.
